The cab can be "flipped" for easier engine maintenance
Many people don't know that most heavy-duty truck cabs can be flipped forward. This is because the truck's engine is usually installed under the cab. When the engine needs maintenance, the driver can lift the entire cab with a hydraulic device to expose the engine compartment, making it convenient for maintenance personnel to work. This design greatly improves maintenance efficiency and avoids the trouble of traditional vehicles needing to disassemble many parts to access the engine. However, there are strict operating specifications for flipping the cab. It must be done on a flat road and with proper safety support to prevent accidents.
Rearview mirrors hide "defrosting and deicing" technology to cope with bad weather
Truck rearview mirrors are not only much larger than those of ordinary cars but also have a hidden function - defrosting and deicing. In rainy, snowy or cold weather, rearview mirrors are easily covered with frost, ice or fog, affecting the driver's view of the road behind. When the rearview mirror heating function is activated, the heating wires behind the lens will heat up quickly, melting the frost and ice and evaporating the water vapor to keep the mirror clear. Some high-end trucks are also equipped with electric adjustment and angle memory functions for the rearview mirrors, allowing drivers of different heights to quickly find the most suitable viewing angle.
The "small tank" next to the fuel tank contains a key environmental protection substance
Looking closely at the side of a truck, you'll notice that in addition to the large fuel tank, there is a smaller tank, which is actually an urea tank. The exhaust gas emitted by diesel trucks contains a large amount of nitrogen oxides, which are harmful to the environment. The automotive urea solution in the urea tank can react with the exhaust gas in the catalytic converter, converting nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water, meeting environmental emission standards. When urea is insufficient, the truck will trigger torque limitation protection, resulting in reduced power, reminding the driver to refuel in time. It can be seen that this "small tank" is crucial for the normal operation and environmental performance of the truck.
